Friends. Due to the nature and timing of storms which have been forecast for our community this afternoon, we may need to delay our busses leaving at the end of our day. It is possible that our safest option is once again to dismiss a little early but at the moment we do not plan to do so. Though we are currently not under any watches or warnings, Severe weather is expected this afternoon and may be ongoing for quite a while. We will open our Safe Room shortly after our busses run, for our community, including parents who want to bring their child back with them. We again ask that no one bring pets to the safe room. We understand and support any parents who choose to pick up students prior to potential storm development. We will continue to monitor the situation as it develops. Thank you for your understanding and we are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
Friends. Due to the nature and timing of storms which have been forecast for our community this afternoon, we will be dismissing school at 1:00. Severe weather is expected by 3:00 and may be ongoing for quite a while. We will open our Safe Room at 2:00 for our community, including parents who want to bring their child back with them any time after 2:00. If any parents need to make special arrangements for your child due to not being home at 1:00, please contact us. We also ask that no one bring pets to the safe room. Thank you for your understanding and we are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
Friends. We are aware of the potential for bad weather tomorrow afternoon. We will be feeding lunch early tomorrow in case any parents choose to pick their student up early after lunch. We will continue to monitor the hourly forecast as it develops. It is also possible that we might need to hold students here for a brief time if lightening or high winds are occurring at our normal bus dismissal time. For many of our kids, our school is the safest place they could be. For parents with student drivers, we also understand that some parents may want to sign them out early as well. We hope that our community only gets a Spring rain.
The Food Bank of North Central Arkansas is at Cave City Middle School at least until 4:00 by the baseball fields distributing 110 pounds of shelf stable, fresh, and frozen foods and water. Each household will also receive a $75 gift card courtesy of Walmart. There are no income limits. All you need to do is pull up to the trucks, bring your ID if available, and while they ask a few questions they will load your vehicle.
Friends: The donation center located in the Middle School Gym will continue to be open during Spring Break next week, Monday through Friday from 8am to 6pm. This resource is available to everyone in our community and surrounding areas. If your family or someone you know is in need of any food items, hygiene products, baby items, or clothing, please stop by. #CaveCityStrong
Friends. We were so happy to see the majority of our students show up for school today. After visiting with Mayor Anderson and assessing our situation, we are comfortable announcing that we will return to normal operations tomorrow (Thursday). We are excited to have all our students back. Middle school drop off and pick up will take place as it did before. And after school practices and activities will also resume. We do ask that parents of students who were indirectly or directly affected by the tornado let us know so we can excuse your child, and more importantly, so we can offer you assistance. Thank you for your support and understanding. We remain Caveman Strong.
Friends, buses will run tomorrow but please be patient with our arrival times to your bus stop. Traffic will be congested and could cause us to be behind schedule. Those that live in the affected areas of W Center, Christopher, Lile & King St can meet the Flower bus at Curia Creek Apartments around 7:25. Middle School car riders need to be dropped off and picked up at the High School Cafeteria and those students will be shuttled to and from that area in the AM & PM. We understand any parents that keep their children home in an abundance of caution. Thank you for your cooperation and support. We are Cave City Strong!!
