Cave City schools will be dismissing at normal time today. We are thankful the storm has passed!
Parents and friends. We are currently monitoring a storm system moving into our area. Depending on the timing of its arrival, we may delay our dismissal time today due to lightning impacts. No decision has been made at this time but we wanted you to be aware of the possibility. As always, any parent choosing to pick up their child prior to the arrival is more than welcome to do so. We will notify you if dismissal is delayed.
Good morning, friends.
At our April board meeting, it was decided to relocate the new elementary building to the area near our Show Barn. After thoughtful discussion, the board determined that this location would not only be safer for our students and provide better traffic flow, but would also offer a stronger foundation due to the level site and higher-quality soil.
Our architect is currently working with our construction manager, FARCO, to prepare a bid package for the dirt work this summer. We hope the bid package for the building itself will be ready by late fall.
This project is made possible through the continued support of the patrons of the Cave City School District. We appreciate all of you so very much!

After evaluating all of our bus routes, we concluded that only two were capable of running their full route. We are also mindful of our student drivers and employees. In an abundance of caution to keep everyone safe we feel it best to stay home Monday and start back on Tuesday. Temperatures on Monday will hopefully make for a better situation on Tuesday. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. We appreciate your continued support.
Drivers. We do plan on having school Monday. We will trust your discretion in running your route as you see fit. Please let Justin know as soon as possible what portions you will not be able to run
So he can post them on facebook tomorrow afternoon. If a majority of us can't make it, that would obviously affect our decision to have school. Thank you for your service.
There will be no school in Cave City on Friday. After checking road conditions, most of our roads are still in poor condition. The Sharp County road crew did an amazing job and gave us a chance, but it's still too risky for our student drivers and many bus routes. I want to thank our employees who came in today to work on clearing our campus. Without them, Monday would have been in jeopardy!
