Friends. Our back roads are still pretty bad in many spots. But our main concern is the increased probability of freezing rain at some point tomorrow. Currently, some forecasters have us getting almost a quarter of an inch of ice before the front “hopefully” turns to rain. With all that, we are canceling school tomorrow along with many other schools in our area. Hopefully we will return Tuesday

There will be no school at Cave City on Friday. Our parking lot and main highways are clear, but most side roads and portions of the northern part of the district are still treacherous. We will make up tomorrow on Tuesday, May 28th.

Cave City schools will be open this morning. However, even though we are not currently under any advisory, there is potential that winter weather could impact our area later this morning. We will continue to monitor the situation as it develops and hope to at least feed our students lunch today. It is possible that we may dismiss early today in an abundance of caution. We ask parents to be aware of this possibility and to make preparations in case we need to dismiss. Also please be mindful of students who drive as we may release them prior to busses to ensure their safe travel directly to their home. For parents who need to, we understand if your situation requires you to keep your student home today due to the uncertainty. We appreciate your support and understanding.

We will attempt to update our Facebook page by 6:15 am when school is uncertain to give you the latest information possible. We will also contact local radio stations and KAIT 8 in Jonesboro.
